The Paralegal ("we," "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, how we use it, and how we protect it. It applies to visitors and prospective clients using this site; information handled inside an established retainer is separately governed by the professional-conduct and confidentiality rules of the Law Society of Ontario.
Information we collect
- Information you submit through our intake forms — such as your name, phone, email, address, date of birth, driver's licence number (where you provide it), a description of your matter, and, on the suspended-licence intake, a typed signature and drawn signature image used to authorize us to pull your Ministry (ICON) driver record.
- Basic technical information sent by your browser (IP address, referrer, user agent) and standard analytics events, used to operate and improve the site.
How we use it
- To contact you about your matter and provide a case assessment.
- Where you have authorized it, to obtain your ICON driver record from the Ontario Ministry of Transportation in order to identify outstanding fines and the courts that hold them.
- To keep records required for professional-conduct and regulatory purposes.
- To operate, secure, and improve this website.
Service providers
We use third-party service providers to host this website, deliver form submissions to our intake system, and store signed authorization documents. These providers process information on our behalf and are contractually required to safeguard it. We do not sell your personal information.
Retention
Intake information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your inquiry and, where a retainer is signed, for the period required by Law Society of Ontario record-keeping rules. Website analytics data is retained for a shorter period consistent with standard analytics defaults.
Your choices
